PARIS21, in collaboration with UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP), conducted a regional training course on the National Strategies for the Development of Statistics (NSDS) on December 9-12, 2014 at UNSIAP in Chiba, Japan. This training course was designed to introduce high level country representatives in the new NSDS Guidelines. The Bhutan online data catalog (http://www.nsb.gov.bt/nada4/index.php/home) contains seven studies, one of which is the Renewable Natural Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF). The MoAF organized a metadata production workshop to document the different studies of the Ministry. In addition, other ministries that contribute to agriculture statistics were invited. The workshop was funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Bhutan National Statistics Bureau (NSB) organized a Microdata Outreach Workshop in Thimphu on 27-28 August 2014. Participants of the workshop included representatives from six government data producing agencies and nine user organizations from the government, private sector and academic institutions. Three producers presented on their data collection activities and three users presented their data requirements and their experiences in accessing data. NSB presented their data archiving system which currently houses studies from four agencies.

NADA Administrators from fifteen agencies in eleven countries of Asia and the Pacific gathered in Bonifacio Global City, Metro Manila, Philippines on June 25-27, 2013 for a regional training workshop on NADA 4.0. The workshop began with sessions on upgrading the NADAs from version 3 to version 4. A Microdata Management Toolkit Training was held in Paro, Bhutan from Aug. 20-Sept. 4. The Toolkit was hosted by the National Statistics Bureau (NSB). The IHSN tools were quickly adapted to use in Bhutan and will be institutionalized by the NSB. A National Data Archive (NADA) is also planned for installation. Five surveys were documented during the workshop and a test NADA was also provided for the NSB. Follow up activities will include: a production workshop with a review of the survey documentation as well as support for the NADA dissemination tool....
