Sierra Leone: Statistics Sierra Leone holds Survey Metadata Production Workshop and archives more surveys (June 2014)

A Survey Metadata Production Workshop was held in Free Town, Sierra Leone from June 30 to July 4 to document new surveys produced by Statistics Sierra Leone (SSL). Six staff members from various departments of the SSL participated in the workshop and successfully documented seven surveys. The metadata produced during the workshop was reviewed by an independent reviewer and uploaded to the SSL NADA. (http://microdata.statistics.sl/index.php/catalog) . The workshop was facilitated by ADP consultants Mrs. Aakinsanya Afusat Adepeju from Nigeria and Mr. Yusuff M. Sarnoh from Liberia’s Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS). The ADP habitually uses officials from other countries in the region to promote south-south collaboration and reinforce capacity in the region.  The participants were trained on the use of the latest version of the Nesstar Publisher 4.0.9. In addition, the participants were instructed on the latest developments in  microdata and metadata dissemination using the NADA.
