Survey microdata made accessible
- National Survey catalog available on CSO website (see URL above).
- All available nationally representative surveys and censuses documented, archived and disseminated.
- Capacity built and sustained within CSO to document, archive and disseminate microdata - as standard processes of every survey undertaken. About 15 staff trained on microdata management standards, tools and practice; top management sensitized.
- Formal microdata dissemination policy discussed with main Users and drafted (not yet approved).

South Africa: Regional Workshop on Data Documentation and Dissemination (June 24-26, 2014)
The ADP held a regional workshop on data documentation and dissemination in the Southern Africa region from June 24-26. The DDP has engaged NSOs in all 15 countries of the Southern Africa Development Community in regional and national-level capacity development in microdata documentation and management. ADP is also supporting some of the countries in the development of dissemination policies, and facilitating country-level user/producer exchanges through microdata outreach workshops.Zambia: Ministries join the CSO on sharing survey metadata (August 2013)
A Survey Metadata Production Workshop was held in Lusaka, Zambia on August 6 - 10, 2013 for the Central Statistical Office (CSO), the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MoAL) and the Ministry of Education (MoE). A total of nineteen staff members successfully documented eleven surveys which are now in their final stage of quality control before being published in the CSO’s NADA Catalog: http://www.zamstats.gov.zm/nada/. The workshop was co-facilitated by an expert sent from the CSA in Ethiopia to further promote collaboration between NSOs in microdata management.
Regional Training Workshop on NADA 4.0 held in Tunis for English Speaking African Countries (June 2013)
A Regional Training workshop was held in Tunis, Tunisia on June 10 – 12, 2013 in the context of the launching of the NADA 4.0 by the International Household Survey Network (IHSN). This workshop was jointly organized by PARIS21 with the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
Regional training workshop on population and housing census documentation and archiving held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 12-16 December 2011
The PARIS21 Secretariat and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) undertook a training workshop on the use of the IHSN Microdata Management Toolkit. This workshop was conducted in the context of the joint OECD/PARIS21 – World Bank Accelerated Data Program (ADP, www.ihsn.org/adp). This workshop which took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 12th to 16th December 2011.NADA 3.0 Africa Regional Training (Nairobi, Kenya, 18-21 October 2010)
As part of the implementation of the PARIS21/Accelerated Data Program (ADP), a four day workshop on the installation and management of the IHSN National Data Archive 3.0 (NADA 3.0) application was conducted in Nairobi Kenya. The workshop took place from 18th to 21st October 2010.
IT specialists and archive managers from the National Statistics Offices of Kenya, Lesotho, Tanzania, Zambia, Swaziland, Nigeria, Southern Sudan, Liberia, Ghana, The Gambia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Malawi and Palestine took part.
