South Africa: Regional Workshop on Data Documentation and Dissemination (June 24-26, 2014)
The ADP held a regional workshop on data documentation and dissemination in the Southern Africa region from June 24-26. The DDP has engaged NSOs in all 15 countries of the Southern Africa Development Community in regional and national-level capacity development in microdata documentation and management. ADP is also supporting some of the countries in the development of dissemination policies, and facilitating country-level user/producer exchanges through microdata outreach workshops.Regional Training Workshop on NADA 4.0 held in Tunis for English Speaking African Countries (June 2013)
A Regional Training workshop was held in Tunis, Tunisia on June 10 – 12, 2013 in the context of the launching of the NADA 4.0 by the International Household Survey Network (IHSN). This workshop was jointly organized by PARIS21 with the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
Namibia: NSA launches its on-line survey catalog (April 2013)
The Namibia National Statistics Agency (NSA), which joined the ADP in March 2013, launched its on-line searchable survey catalog based on the IHSN NADA application. The catalog was launched to coincide with the release of the Namibia Labour Force Survey 2012 report. A training workshop is planned for May during which NSA staff will be trained on standards, tools and practice of documentation and archiving - and where the remaining surveys from the NSA will be documented.
Regional training workshop on population and housing census documentation and archiving held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 12-16 December 2011
The PARIS21 Secretariat and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) undertook a training workshop on the use of the IHSN Microdata Management Toolkit. This workshop was conducted in the context of the joint OECD/PARIS21 – World Bank Accelerated Data Program (ADP, www.ihsn.org/adp). The first "Regional training on the documentation and archiving of Agricultural Censuses and Surveys” was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 7-11 February 2011. The objective of the workshop was to train participants from 15 countries on the use the Microdata Management Toolkit for the documentation of Agricultural Census and Surveys, and to initiate the documentation of their latest agricultural census.
