The ADP facilitated a Training Workshop for the NSO of El Salvador (DIGESTyC) from November 26 to 30, 2012. The NSO is enhancing its capacity in microdata documentation and archiving - through systematic use of the IHSN tools. 14 participants were trained, including 2 participants from the NSO of Guatemala interested in improving their skills. 7 surveys were documented during the workshop, with a special focus on quality controls. Follow-up activities are being implented internally by DIGESTYC.

A Regional training workshop on population and housing census documentation and archiving was held on San Jose, Costa Rica from September 3 to 7, 2012. This workshop was organized jointly with the NSO of Costa Rica (INEC). The workshop aimed to provide training on DDI and the IHSN Microdata Management Toolkit (MMT) to participants involved directly in Housing and Population Censuses. It was also intended to introduce the DDI and MMT to agencies not yet involved in the ADP. The Regional Workshop gathered 22 participants from 12 countries, 6 participants came from 3 anglo-speakers Caribbean Countries: Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Lucia.

SICA´s authorities requested support to document, preserve and disseminate 26 microdatasets related to Central America Food Security. The objective is to support the indicator´s harmonization process in the framework of the PRESISAN Sub regional Project.

The III Meeting of the Central-America Statistical Commission (CENTROESTAD) of the Central America Integration System (SICA) was held in San Salvador (El Salvador) on September 1-2, 2010 . The meeting was hosted by Mr. Glenn Avilez, Pro-Tempore President of CENTROESTAD and head of the National Statistical Office (NSO) of Belize. The meeting was attended by Directors and high level representatives from the national statistics offices of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Panama and Belize.
