Rwanda: Microdata Dissemination Policy Workshop (August 2014)
A Regional Workshop on Developing Data Dissemination Policies was held from 27 – 29 August 2014 in Kigali, Rwanda. Representatives from National Statistics Offices of eight countries attended the workshop, including: Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda and South Africa. These countries are in different stages of developing their data dissemination policies. Among them Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa have full-fledged policies for disseminating microdata. Botswana, Burundi, Ghana and Malawi are countries without formal policies.
South Africa: Regional Workshop on Data Documentation and Dissemination (June 24-26, 2014)
The ADP held a regional workshop on data documentation and dissemination in the Southern Africa region from June 24-26. The DDP has engaged NSOs in all 15 countries of the Southern Africa Development Community in regional and national-level capacity development in microdata documentation and management. ADP is also supporting some of the countries in the development of dissemination policies, and facilitating country-level user/producer exchanges through microdata outreach workshops.Botswana: CSO joins ADP and organizes a data documentation workshop (February 2014)
At the request of Central Statistics Office (CSO) in Botswana, the ADP organized a 5-day Microdata Management Training and Survey Metadata Production Workshop. The workshop was held in Gaborone from February 24 to 28, 2014.
Regional training workshop on population and housing census documentation and archiving held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 12-16 December 2011
The PARIS21 Secretariat and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) undertook a training workshop on the use of the IHSN Microdata Management Toolkit. This workshop was conducted in the context of the joint OECD/PARIS21 – World Bank Accelerated Data Program (ADP, www.ihsn.org/adp). The first "Regional training on the documentation and archiving of Agricultural Censuses and Surveys” was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 7-11 February 2011. The objective of the workshop was to train participants from 15 countries on the use the Microdata Management Toolkit for the documentation of Agricultural Census and Surveys, and to initiate the documentation of their latest agricultural census.
