The first "Regional training on the documentation and archiving of Agricultural Censuses and Surveys” was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 7-11 February 2011. The objective of the workshop was to train participants from 15 countries on the use the Microdata Management Toolkit for the documentation of Agricultural Census and Surveys, and to initiate the documentation of their latest agricultural census.

Algeria joined ADP in late 2010, following its participation in an ADP regional workshop organized jointly with the Tunisian NSO. A Microdata Management Toolkit Training and a DDI production workshop was held in Algiers, Algeria from 19 to 23 December 2010. In cooperation with the ADP focal point at the ONS Algeria a work program for 2011 has been agreed and will include the following activities: - Inventory of past surveys and censuses. - Documentation of surveys and censuses using the DDI-compliant IHSN Microdata Management Toolkit (including quality controls)

The "Maghreb Workshop on Survey Data Documentation, Archiving and Dissemination Techniques" was held in Gammarth, Tunisia, on 26 and 27 May 2010. Participants, coming from seven countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Mauritania, Palestine and Tunisia), have discussed standards and tools, and best practices available.
