Date of Event: 30/07/2012
Three back-to-back DDI production workshops were successfully conducted for the Pacific island countries in conjunction with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC). These workshops were based in Nadi, Fiji (Polynesian Countries), Noumea, New Caledonia (Melanesian Countries), and Guam (Micronesian Countries). A total of 25 studies were documented, comprising mostly of Censuses of Population and Housing and Household Income and Expenditure Surveys. The 27 country participants came from Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu in Polynesia; Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu in Melanesia; and Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Palau and the Republic of the Marshall Islands in Micronesia.
SPC’s PRISM hosts the data catalog for the Pacific countries (http://www.spc.int/prism/data-catalog), as well as provides links to the country websites. The DDIs produced during the July workshops are now accessible in PRISM.
