Regional Training Workshop on NADA 4.0 held in Costa Rica for Latin American Countries (June 2013)

Country / Regional Activity: Global
Date of Event: 03/06/2013

The National Statistical Office of Costa Rica (INEC), the PARIS21 Secretariat and the World Bank organized a regional training workshop on June 3 - 5, 2013 on the use of the IHSN National Data Archive application (NADA) with the following objectives (1) to expose participants to the latest version of the application, (2) to upgrade existing NADA and implement relevant quality enhancements to their systems and (3) to discuss strategic and technical issues relating to their microdata dissemination and data users servicing. Nine countries were represented (Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico (TSJ, INEGI, IPLANEG), Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, Costa Rica), as well as and representatives from the statistical departments of two sub-regional Institutions (Central America countries, CENTROESTAD, and Andean countries, ANDESTAD). All participants successfully installed the NADA 4.0 application and customized it to their specific websites, discovered the new features of the new version and gained more knowledge on citations and security issues. A few National Statistical Offices have already upgraded their NADA right after the workshop. The ADP will continue to follow-up and provide support to the above countries as they upgrade their NADAs in the coming months!
