Kyrgyzstan: ADP trains statistics office to document microdata, helps to install two internal NADA catalogs (December 2013)

From December 16 - 20, 2013, PARIS 21 and the World Bank conducted a Survey Metadata Production Workshop for the Kyrgyzstan Statistical Agency staff on microdata archiving and dissemination. The training was done as part of the Accelerated Data Program. Fourteen staff members from different departments were trained on the use of the latest versions of Nesstar Publisher (v4.0.9) and web cataloguing application NADA (v4.1). In addition, ADP trainers worked with IT department personnel to install two internal NADA catalogs: a password-protected catalog for Household Budget Surveys and a general catalog for surveys from other departments. During the production part of the workshop, each participant documented a study and published it in one of the two NADA internal catalogs. The training and production work were done in Russian. At the end of the workshop, the catalogs with new studies were presented to the agency’s Deputy Director Mrs. Luksina Tekeeva.

The workshop was conducted by the mission leader World Bank Senior Statistician Matthew Welch and PARIS 21 consultant Antonina Redko. The head of the Household Budget Surveys department Mrs. Galina Samohleb provided enormous support during the workshop. The following studies were documented in Russian: Kyrgyz Integrated Household Survey 2008 and 2012, Survey of Financial and Economic Activity 2011 and 2012, Survey of Commercial Banks 2012, Labor Force Survey 2012, Survey of Material Base of Schools 2011, Survey of Construction Organizations 2011 and 2012, and Survey of Wages in Industrial Enterprises 2012.

Svetlana Valuiskaya, Murapat Esenalieva, Ainur Shakenova, Asel Asanbaeva, Galina Samohleb, Ainura Nurbaeva, Bermet Abdraeva, Asel Alymkulova, Timur Mambetaliev, Yiuliya Krasnikova, Asel Mamytkanova, Urmat Abdilhaev, Elmira Tursunova and Gulzhapan Omoralieva participated in the workshop. Aibek Baibagysh Uulu from the World Bank worked with the Kyrgyzstan Statistical Agency to organize the workshop.
