The Institut National de la Statistique (INS) undertook a consultative workshop to finalize the draft of their data dissemination policy. The Cote d’Ivoire now joins Senegal and Cameroon with a comprehensive approach to microdata dissemination.

The draft data dissemination policy addresses the following:

  • The need to release microdata as soon as possible after publication of results providing for a 3-6 month window for publication.
  • Recognizes the need to preserve confidentiality; assure public data files provide consistent results and also are documented using the Data Documentation Initiative (DDI)
  • Potential user classifications
  • Different levels of access

The policy will be submitted now for final approval.
