Results obtained with ADP support include:
Surveys inventoried and preserved
- All available nationally representative surveys inventoried, some documented and archived (work in progress).
- Capacity built within Tajstat to document and archive microdata. About 25 staff trained on microdata management standards, tools and practice; top management sensitized.
Tajikistan: statistics office receives training on microdata management and launches first internal microdata catalog (December 2013)
As a follow up to previous activity in 2011, the Tajikistan Statistical Agency (TAJSTAT) hosted a production workshop on microdata archiving and dissemination from December 9 - 13, 2013. The workshop was facilitated by the World Bank and PARIS21 as part of the Accelerated Data Program (ADP). Training was provided to eight staff members from different TAJSTAT departments on the use the Nesstar metadata editor (Nesstar Publisher). Additionally, training was held on the management of the web cataloguing application NADAStaff from the IT department was trained on how to install the NADA and how to manage the application.
Tajikistan improves on microdata management (Dushanbe, 24 - 31 October 2011)
An IHSN Microdata Management Toolkit Training and DDI Production workshop was held for Tajstat in Dushanbe, Tajikistan from the 24th to the 28th and 31st October 2011. The workshop was held in partnership with the World Bank Office in Dushanbe. Participated in by 25 participants from the central and regional offices of Tajstat, the workshop produced DDIs for 6 Tajstat surveys.
In the debriefing held with Deputy Director Kiyomuddin Norou, he articulated that there should be continuity of work in Tajstat using the IHSN tools and following international standards on documentation and dissemination.ADP and UNSIAP partnering: microdata management in SIAP’s ICT Course (Chiba, Japan, 7-10 June 2010)
The IHSN Toolkit was one of the software included in the 1st Group Training Course in Application of Information Management and Related ICT for Official Statistics conducted by the UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) in Chiba, Japan. This is the second SIAP course to include the Toolkit. The course has 23 participants coming from 14 countries, namely: Armenia, Azerbaijan (2), Cook Islands, Ethiopia (2), India (3), Kosovo, Rwanda (2), Samoa (2), Solomon Islands (2), Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand (2), Uzbekistan (2) and Vietnam.
