Survey microdata made accessible
- National Survey catalog available on NSO website (see URL above).
- All available nationally representative surveys and censuses documented, archived and disseminated.
- Capacity built and sustained within NSO to document, archive and disseminate microdata - as standard processes of every survey undertaken. About 10 staff trained on microdata management standards, tools and practice; top management sensitized.

Rwanda: Microdata Dissemination Policy Workshop (August 2014)
A Regional Workshop on Developing Data Dissemination Policies was held from 27 – 29 August 2014 in Kigali, Rwanda. Representatives from National Statistics Offices of eight countries attended the workshop, including: Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda and South Africa. These countries are in different stages of developing their data dissemination policies. Among them Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa have full-fledged policies for disseminating microdata. Botswana, Burundi, Ghana and Malawi are countries without formal policies.
South Africa: Regional Workshop on Data Documentation and Dissemination (June 24-26, 2014)
The ADP held a regional workshop on data documentation and dissemination in the Southern Africa region from June 24-26. The DDP has engaged NSOs in all 15 countries of the Southern Africa Development Community in regional and national-level capacity development in microdata documentation and management. ADP is also supporting some of the countries in the development of dissemination policies, and facilitating country-level user/producer exchanges through microdata outreach workshops.Malawi: Several line-ministries and the University of Malawi join the NSO to document microdata(September 2013)
Two back-to-back IHSN Microdata Management Toolkit trainings and Survey Metadata Production Workshops were held on September 16 - 20 in Lilongwe and on September 23 - 27 in Zomba. A total of twelve participants gathered together from the NSO regional office in Lilongwe and the Ministries of Agriculture, Education, Energy, Health, Trade, and Justice to document their respective surveys. During the second week in Zomba, eighteen participants from both the NSO and the Chancellor College of the University of Malawi (UNIMA) attended the workshop.
Regional Training Workshop on NADA 4.0 held in Tunis for English Speaking African Countries (June 2013)
A Regional Training workshop was held in Tunis, Tunisia on June 10 – 12, 2013 in the context of the launching of the NADA 4.0 by the International Household Survey Network (IHSN). This workshop was jointly organized by PARIS21 with the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
Malawi: NSO promoting survey documentation and dissemination (May 2013)
The National Statistical Office (NSO) of Malawi has been an ADP member since 2009. It has been providing online data to users with eight surveys since it joined the ADP. Recently it has completed the first phase of the NSS Strategic Plan developed with the help of PARIS21. As per the NSS plan it wants to expand its cooperation with the other six line ministries in the field of data collection and documentation. To maintain a regular flow of online quality data and make it easily accessible to users, it is finalizing a data dessimination policy with ADP support. Futhermore, a survey documentation workshop is being organized with line ministries and other data producers.
