The ADP/PARIS21 in collaboration with Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) organized a workshop to discuss a collaborative academic documentation initiative from 11 to 12 June 2015. This was done right after the ADP pilot Quality Assessment.

The ADP/PARIS21 in collaboration with Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) organized a pilot Regional Quality Assessment Workshop for Anglophone West Africa in Accra from 9 to 10 June 2015. The main objectives of the workshop are to review and discuss on the quality and functionality of key ADP outputs in countries and provide feedback for further improvement and sustainability of the program. The Accra workshop is first of its kind where GSS Ghana and NBS Nigeria participated as pilot countries. A set of checklists were used to score and evaluate the country activities.

A Microdata Management Toolkit Training and Metadata Production Workshop was held in Accra from 8 to 12 September 2014 at the request of Ghana Statistics Service (GSS). A total of 21 participants from different divisions of GSS (12) attended. Also present were different partner agencies in NSS, including: Ministry of Education (2), Ministry of Food and Agriculture (1), Ministry of Health (1) and Birth and Death Registry (3). Apart from the agencies in NSS, two participants from Center for Data Archiving, Management, Analysis and Advocacy (C-DAMAA) of Cape Coast University also participated in the workshop with survey microdata.

A Regional Workshop on Developing Data Dissemination Policies was held from 27 – 29 August 2014 in Kigali, Rwanda. Representatives from National Statistics Offices of eight countries attended the workshop, including: Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda and South Africa. These countries are in different stages of developing their data dissemination policies. Among them Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa have full-fledged policies for disseminating microdata. Botswana, Burundi, Ghana and Malawi are countries without formal policies.

An ADP mission took place on May 5 - 6, 2014 in Ghana Statistics Service (GSS) Accra to take stock of past ADP activities and achievements at GSS, discuss their sustainability and find possibilities of ADP expansion on documenting administrative and vital registration data. GSS has been an ADP member since 2008. Two training workshops on microdata management and dissemination were organized in 2008 and 2012 and all available nationally representative surveys and censuses were documented and archived.
