Cameroon is regarded by many as a champion in its sub-region, and considered as a success story for the ADP. Results obtained with ADP support include:
Survey microdata made accessible
- National Survey catalog available on INS website (see URL above).
- All available nationally representative surveys and censuses documented, archived and disseminated.
- Capacity built and sustained within INS to document, archive and disseminate microdata - as standard processes of every survey undertaken. About 15 INS staff trained on microdata management standards, tools and practice; top management sensitized.
Quality of future surveys improved
- Detailed quality assessments of education data performed (with UIS/UNESCO), with improved methodologies and survey / administrative questionnaires designed and implemented (Ministry of Secondary Education).
- National on-line repository for survey standards (concepts, questions, classifications) being established.

Cameroon: Developing a microdata dissemination policy for the National Statistical System (October 2014)
The INS in Cameroon held a consultative workshop which reviewed a microdata dissemination policy in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The dates of the workshop were from Oct. 8-10, 2014. A general dissemination policy already exists and at the request of the INS the ADP provided assistance to discuss microdata access between users and producers. The ANSD (National Statistics Office) from Senegal provided the key facilitator to assist in the process and the views of users and producers were taken into account in the consultation of the policy.
Regional: Microdata Dissemination Policy Workshop (May 2014)
The ADP held a workshop in Paris, France from May 22-23 at the OECD conference center. The workshop was promoted under the Stat-3 series of workshops that will focus on: microdata dissemination policy development; microdata quality; responding to user demand for microdata. These workshops are designed to be short and focused discussions targeting decision makers at the country level. The countries represent a regional group that are in different stages in the process of developing systematic approaches to developing microdata dissemination policies; improving microdata quality and having well managed approaches to responding to user demands.
Regional Training Workshop on NADA 4.0 held in Tunis for Francophone and Lusophone African Countries (June 2013)
A Regional Training workshop was held in Tunis, Tunisia on June 13 – 15, 2013 in the context of the launching of the NADA 4.0 by the International Household Survey Network (IHSN). This workshop was jointly organized by PARIS21 with the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
The workshop aimed to expose participants to the latest version of the NADA application which was recently released, to upgrade their existing NADAs and implement relevant quality enhancements to their systems and to discuss strategic and technical issues relating to microdata dissemination in general.NADA installed on IFORD website (Yaounde, Cameroon, 25 October 2009)
The NADA application has been installed on the server of the Institut de Formation et de Recherche Démographiques (IFORD) and is available from its website at the following address: http://www.iford-cm.org/nada
The National Statistics Office of Cameroon was instrumental in this installation. IFORD has now the human and technical capacity to disseminate its survey metadata and microdata on-line.
It is expected that the version 2 of the application will be installed before the end of the year, as documented surveys are posted on the website.
