Botswana: CSO joins ADP and organizes a data documentation workshop (February 2014)

At the request of Central Statistics Office (CSO) in Botswana, the ADP organized a 5-day Microdata Management Training and Survey Metadata Production Workshop. The workshop was held in Gaborone from February 24 to 28, 2014.

A total of ten participants from different departments of the Central Statistics Office (CSO ) participated in the training. The training focused on the use of the Nesstar Publisher (v4.0.9). The participants documented seven surveys and included the microdata. In addition, the participants were informed on the ability to disseminate both data and metadata using the web-based cataloguing application, NADA. A specific training on the NADA application was undertaken. This included: installation, customization and maintenance of the application. The training targeted the CSO's IT staff. Current limitations in hosting the on-line application were noted and will be addressed as part of the ADP support plan.
