NADA Administrators from fifteen agencies in eleven countries of Asia and the Pacific gathered in Bonifacio Global City, Metro Manila, Philippines on June 25-27, 2013 for a regional training workshop on NADA 4.0. The workshop began with sessions on upgrading the NADAs from version 3 to version 4. The sessions that followed were on site administration, implementing quality control measures, and learning the new features of NADA. After the successful conduct of two DDI Production Workshops, Nepal’s Central Bureau of Statistics launched its NADA last 30 June 2011, making available metadata and microdata for 12 of its recent surveys and censuses. The NADA was officially launched by the Honorable Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC) and joined by representatives of various ministries, the academia, research institutions, NGOs and international donor agencies. Also present were representatives from the media which gave the launch some media coverage in the evening news....

A DDI Production Workshop was held in Kavre, Nepal from 22 to 26 November 2010. Participants to the workshop comprised 22 staff from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) and Branch Statistics Offices. Good quality documentation was produced for 12 surveys at the end of the 5-day workshop. Director General Uttam Narayan Malla graced the activity on the third day and gave a speech conveying his support for institutionalization of documentation, archiving and dissemination using the IHSN tools within the bureau....

A Microdata Management Toolkit Training was held in Nagarkot, Nepal from 17 to 21 May 2010. This is the seventh of the series of trainings held for Asia by the ADP. Participants comprised of 22 technically skilled personnel from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) and other government agencies. The training included a DDI production workshop where 6 surveys were documented. DDIs of 2 surveys were presented to the Director General and Deputy Directors of the CBS who graced the training on the last day....
