A Regional Workshop on Developing Data Dissemination Policies was held from 27 – 29 August 2014 in Kigali, Rwanda. Representatives from National Statistics Offices of eight countries attended the workshop, including: Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda and South Africa. These countries are in different stages of developing their data dissemination policies. Among them Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa have full-fledged policies for disseminating microdata. The ADP held a regional workshop on data documentation and dissemination in the Southern Africa region from June 24-26. The DDP has engaged NSOs in all 15 countries of the Southern Africa Development Community in regional and national-level capacity development in microdata documentation and management. Ethiopia is the first African country to hit the bar of 100 surveys available in its national survey catalog. CSA was one of the first countries to join the ADP as early as 2006. Documentation, archiving and dissemination of surveys is now done as a routine exercise by CSA - as standard processes of every survey.
