A Regional Workshop on Developing Data Dissemination Policies was held from 27 – 29 August 2014 in Kigali, Rwanda. Representatives from National Statistics Offices of eight countries attended the workshop, including: Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda and South Africa. These countries are in different stages of developing their data dissemination policies. Among them Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa have full-fledged policies for disseminating microdata. The National Institute of Statistics Rwanda (NISR) organized a five-day Metadata Production Workshop in Huye, Rwanda on February 17 to 21, 2014. The ADP provided two facilitators to support the NISR in their efforts to document new surveys and strengthen NISR capacity on microdata documentation and NADA management. The workshop was facilitated by ADP regional consultants Ms. Lynn Woolfrey from DataFirst, University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa and Mr. Biniyam Tadesse Awoke from Central Statistics Agency (CSA) of Ethiopia....
Rwanda: ADP brings microdata producers to university faculty, researchers and students (August 2013)
The ADP and the National Institute of Statistics Rwanda (NISR) hosted a series of Microdata Outreach Workshops in August to reach out to data users from National University of Rwanda (NUR) School of Public Health in Kigali, NUR in Butare, and INES Ruhengeri. Earlier in May 2013, NISR launched the National Data Archive (NADA) as a platform for disseminating survey and census microdata.
